Der Vogelhändler [collection] = Tyroleans : Operette in drei Acten nach einer Idee des Biéville / von M. West und L. Held ; Musik von Carl Zeller. 1890-1900.

Arranged in seven groups: I. Vocal scores (3). II. Vocal parts (36). III. Chorus parts (33). IV. Librettos (6). V. Promptbooks (12 in 13 vols.). VI. Dialogue parts (55). VII. Accompanying material (2). Production materials for "Der Vogelhändler," known in its English version as "Tyroleans." The German vocal scores (Wien: Kratochwill; New York: Schirmer, c1891) contain superlinear handwritten English translation. The vocal parts occur in four sets: two sets of German holographs, and two manuscript sets (one in English, one in German). The chorus parts, in English, are blue mimeos of manuscript music and text (but include one manuscript German copy of the bass part). The published German librettos (New York; Emil Halle, n.d.) identify the Irving Place Theatre, New York, and include printed photos, presumably of the cast for this performance. The promptbooks include two English copies handwritten in lined ledgers. The remainder, in German, include two manuscript copies, four which are typescript and four holograph copies printed by Boswell (Leipzig, n.d.). The dialogue parts occur as five sets: the two German sets are both manuscript, on lined paper; the English sets include one which is handwritten (identified as the "original Casino version"), one which is typed, and one which is typescript mimeo. Most of the items in the collection contain handwritten performance annotations. Accompanying material consists of two sceneplots ("Regiebuch"), which are also holographs printed by Boswell and contain both stage diagrams and verbal directions.
